We Can Do the Whole Journey | Howard Lord Talks to Insider
Our founder, Howard Lord, recently spoke to Insider Media about the journey behind CERT Property,
Our Head of Property Management, Paul Shakeshaft, dedicated his October to a powerful goal: staying sober for a month. This personal challenge is a way for Paul to honour a valued colleague, support people affected by cancer, and raise funds for a cause close to his heart.
Paul’s decision to give up alcohol for a month is deeply personal. He’s honouring the memory of our late colleague, Kevin, who lost his battle with bowel cancer. Paul’s challenge also reflects his admiration for close friend Adele Roberts, a cancer survivor and advocate for stoma awareness. By staying sober, he’s standing with her and many others who bravely face cancer and share their stories to inspire others.
Beyond these heartfelt reasons, Paul also wants to challenge himself. Going alcohol-free for a month is a way for him to boost his confidence and prove that he can overcome tough situations without relying on habits like drinking.
Paul’s Sober October isn’t just a personal journey; it’s a fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support, an organisation that provides essential support to people living with cancer and their families. Every donation counts, helping Macmillan continue its life-changing work.
If you’d like to show your support, you can donate on his fundraising page: Paul’s Sober October Page . Every bit makes a difference.
Paul isn’t stopping with Sober October – he’s also taking on the Hyrox Challenge, a demanding fitness event set for January. It’s a way for him to continue pushing his limits while supporting important causes.
