Work has commenced to regenerate Peelers Yard, our 81-apartment BTR project backed by Myprotein founder Oliver Cookson, on the site of an 1872 police and fire station in New Cross.

Our main contractor Big Red Construction have been appointed to deliver the scheme with works starting on Wednesday to get the Manchester City Centre project underway.

Mike Lomas, Big Red Construction managing director comments: “We’re delighted to partner with CERT on the sensitive restoration of Peelers Yard’s, to bring this old structure back to modern use.”

Tim Groom Architects have designed the development to feature a mix of one and two bedroom homes, with a mix of styles including traditional apartment types alongside townhouses and duplex apartments, with many of the homes integrated into the remaining boundary walls of the original 1872 police and fire station.

Our managing director, Howard Lord said: “2024 has started with us making a big step towards delivering this exciting scheme. This project is our first with Big Red, who have been fantastic to work with so far and we are looking forward to delivering this scheme with them.

The scheme has been reimagined to align with our BTR expansion, to meet the ever-growing demand of the market, and will follow our 45-home SONA BTR project near the Manchester Apollo, which is completing this summer. Both schemes will be fully operated by our property management experts with each property benefiting from its dedicated in-house residential team.
