Located in Ardwick, Manchester, an up-and-coming area, SONA occupies a leading position within this exciting district opposite the iconic art deco Apollo theatre.

An opportunity arose in 2021 for us to step in to save the SONA site following an unfortunate start-stop to the development; due to the prior owners’ contractors hitting financial difficulties. Following our acquisition of the part-completed development from a private consortium of investors we appointed a new contractor, RECOM, in October 2021, and following a lengthy process of due diligence we are delighted that the SONA development is back on track and primed for completion in Spring 2024.

Comprising 45 residential design-led apartments over 6 storeys, SONA’s accessibly priced homes will be a mix of traditional 1 and 2 bedroom as well as some unique duplex and triplex 2 bedroom apartments.

The centre point of our community at SONA will be the huge amount of amenity space provided, which will include a cinema room, meeting rooms, communal kitchen and lounge, as well as regular events aimed at bringing the community together in these spaces.

SONA is situated on Brunswick Street, within the Ardwick Ward of Manchester. The area is at the heart of culture with hotspots such as the O2 Apollo a stones throw away, and just a ten minute walk to Manchester Piccadilly station and the city centre for a truly connected lifestyle.

With its laid-back vibe, local coffee and food shops have been popping up to take advantage of the increasing professional population, with businesses choosing to relocate to Ardwick from the city centre for affordable rents and beautiful buildings. Now workers can sip fresh coffee at Scandinavian-style coffee shop, Wayne’s, on Polygon Street, and order food on Just lunch – a food delivery service in the area.

 

 

SONA is in close proximity to many educational institutions. The University of Manchester, Manchester University Hospital and Modern Language Centre are all within a mile radius. Students or young professionals can reach them by a short walk or by bus that’s just a one minute walk away from the development.

Ardwick Green park, Manchester’s first public park, is located across the road from the scheme and has attracted the attention of investors and developers. With a new focus on the area, the community around the 3-acre green has grown dramatically.
