Big Plans Ahead in Eccles

We’ve set our sights on Eccles, acquiring a site with planning permission on the former Vauxhall dealership site on Albert Street, in Eccles, Salford.

There’s an existing consent for a 25-storey scheme of 256 apartments. We are currently considering redesign options for the scheme, as it would no longer be compliant with the latest BSA regulations.

With work already started on the Eccles town centre masterplan by Salford last November, we see this as the perfect time to invest in Eccles. Our plans for One Albert Street will contribute to the vision for the town as a vibrant community and a place to live by bringing high-quality, design-led homes to the area.

The vision for Eccles, introduced by Salford City Council in 2022, proposed a new direction for the town to reinvigorate the centre with an approach informed by the local community. The Council took ownership of the shopping centre in 2023. Demolition works to the shopping centre have already begun and will be followed by the demolition of the car park and market hall over two further phases, which are due to be completed for redevelopment in August 2025. Modern mixed-use developments, civic spaces, and community facilities will then be incorporated into the vision to complement the historic market town, attracting more people to support its businesses and create a thriving centre.
