Hilton House is taking part in The BRITs Art Trail as part of Manchester Welcomes… The BRITs 2026
Running from Thursday 12 February to Monday 16 March, the trail stretches across the Northern Quarter and Ancoats and turns everyday buildings into an open-air gallery. Curated by renowned Manchester artist Stanley Chow and produced by local creative producers Wild in Art, the citywide project brings together 21 North-West artists through wall murals, window installations and billboard takeovers across the city centre, placing local talent front and centre in the lead-up to the BRIT Awards.
Artists featured in the trail include Stanley Chow, Kim Thompson, The Hammo, Jay Sharples, Oskar with a K, Clare Birtwistle, Caroline Dowsett, Pete Obsolete, Qubek, Jonathan Edwards, Rick Hyde, Florence Burns, David Bailey, Daren Newman, himHallows, Jessica Lee, Luke Insect, Charlie Cross, Barney Ibbotson, Dotto and Bed Studio.
Hilton House has been selected as one of the host locations, with artwork installed on the building as part of the city-wide celebration ahead of the BRIT Awards. Hilton House is stop number 4 on the trail, making it one of the early locations for visitors exploring the route.
As a commercial hub in the heart of the Northern Quarter, Hilton House has long been part of Manchester’s creative community. Originally home to Manchester Polytechnic’s lighting and drama department, it has always attracted creative occupiers. Since reopening in 2021, the building has also hosted a gallery space offered free of charge to artists, giving emerging and under-represented creatives a central place to exhibit their work. This ongoing commitment to supporting local talent reflects the building’s heritage and is part of the reason Hilton House was selected as a location for The BRITs Art Trail.
Taking part in The BRITs Art Trail reflects CERT’s placemaking approach to managing buildings that contribute positively to their surroundings, supporting local activity while adding interest to the streets around them.
