CERT Property’s Hilton House is set to start development

Work is set to start on the refurbishment on one of the Northern Quarter’s most iconic buildings.

We have appointed Armitage Construction to begin works on one of the Northern Quarter’s most iconic buildings – Hilton House.

The 35,000 sq ft building designed by Richard Seifert is undergoing a complete refurbishment.

Buttress Architects will work alongside Sheila Bird Group to design a contemporary space whilst remaining true to its 1960s original design.

Howard Lord, our managing director, said: “Hilton House is a perfect example of the rebellious spirit of the Northern Quarter.

“We are working with local talent to create a building which captures the Northern Quarter’s rich heritage whilst also recognising that the working world is evolving.

“The demand for a character office space in the area is high and it is our aim to restore life into buildings like Hilton House to unlock their true potential and deliver new office solutions across the north of England.”

Daniel Armitage, managing director of Armitage Construction, said: “ We are delighted to be working alongside Cert Property again on another prestigious project which will bring an exciting new development to the community”

Gavin Sorby, managing director at Buttress, said: “Hilton House is a unique building in the heart of one of Manchester’s most exciting neighbourhoods.

“This comprehensive refurbishment will reposition Hilton House at the top of the dynamic, Northern Quarter workspace market, and will make positive contribution to the city’s fast-growing commercial property sector.”

The building will be ready to welcome its first occupiers in summer 2019.
