CERT Property submits Listed Building application for Duke Street property

Here at CERT Property we have submitted a Listed Building application for a property at 91 – 105 Duke Street, launched under the name of Duke & Parr, Liverpool.

The 57,000 sq ft property Duke & Parr, consists of 4 separate buildings one of which, 105 Duke Street, was Liverpool’s First Public Library between 1852-60 and was grade II listed on 14 March 1975. It was later extended and became part of a warehouse belonging to Peter Walker in 1865. The property was most recently occupied as the headquarters of Bibby Shipping, whom CERT acquired the property from in Dec 2019.

CERT aims to refurbish Duke & Parr, Liverpool with the proposals seeking to embrace the history and character of  building; with its historic fabric to be exposed and celebrated as part of the scheme and aims to establish a creative environment that supports and connects local communities and businesses within the IT, creative and technology sectors.

Interior designer Sheila Bird Group has been appointed to develop the brand and interior concept and Elevate Architects will be working alongside them to deliver the scheme.

Workspace Design & Build has been appointed main contractor and are on-site carrying out an initial strip out package of works.

Howard Lord, Managing Director here at CERT Property, comments: “We are delighted to have submitted our Listed Building Application on this beautiful historic property and are eager to get to work on it. The property has so many different elements to it having been comprised of 4 different buildings around an amazing central atrium, which gives us the opportunity to create something really unique as a destination for people to work and play. We have some exciting plans and look forward to releasing more details of these plans in due course.”
