Plans have been submitted for a £50 million scheme in Nottingham

Plans for a £50million student and private rental development could see the area surrounding Nottingham railway station transformed.

Plans were submitted to Nottingham City Council by CERT Property to turn a brownfield site in Crocus Street into a student block made up of 420 student beds – as well as 177 residential apartments.

The plans for the buildings show two ‘U’ shaped blocks ranging from four to eight storeys in what the developers have described as “distinctly designed buildings”.

Howard Lord, managing director of CERT, the investment and development company behind the plans, said: “it’s a city that is full of potential and our proposed scheme will play a pivotal role in the ongoing regeneration of this area.

“Its strategic location as a gateway site to the city meant that it was important that we created an impressive landmark scheme that would set a new standard for the city.”
