We are delighted to announce that we have been named as a finalist in several prestigious awards for our outstanding work in the property industry, including; our Duke & Parr deal with Sony for the Insider North West Deal of the Year, Howard Lord for Insider’s Game-Changer Award, and again for the Duke & Parr deal with Sony for the Property Week Awards Deal of the Year category.
The Insider North West Deal of the Year Award recognises the most innovative and successful deals in the North West region. We have been shortlisted for our work on Duke & Parr, a Grade 2 listed building located in the heart of Liverpool’s Ropewalks district. We have recently completed a tenancy deal with Sony. The deal, valued at over £12.5 million, makes it the largest office transaction in the Liverpool office market in nearly four years. Sony will be occupying the entire building with Firesprite, a home-grown video game developer that was acquired by Sony last year, and is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the Liverpool and Merseyside area.
Property Week Awards are among the most prestigious awards in the property industry. We have again been shortlisted for Deal of the Year for our work on Duke & Parr. The project was completed with the help of nearly £5 million in investment funds from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, which has now been repaid in full. The refurbished building offers a unique combination of historic charm and modern facilities, making it an attractive option for businesses in the tech and creative industries. With 400 full-time employees set to work in the building, Duke & Parr is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy and support the ongoing regeneration of the Ropewalks area.
The Game-Changer Award celebrates the individuals who have made a significant impact on the property industry. Our Founder and Managing Director, Howard Lord, has been named as a finalist. With 17 years of experience in the industry, Howard has played a key role in the company’s success, overseeing the development of some of the North West’s iconic buildings. Howard founded CERT Property in June 2006, at the age of 23 using just modest savings and various overdrafts! Only a few years later, Howard became a recognised expert within the property investment market advising some of the biggest names in the industry on acquisitions, development and sales of residential and commercial projects.
In 2015, Howard took the decision to transform CERT from a consultancy business to becoming a developer and manager of residential and commercial properties across the North West. The focus was on working with investors from around the globe and providing those investors and partners with access to property investment opportunities that generate long term value growth and social impact across commercial and residential assets throughout the North West. Since then having delivered c.£200m of projects to date working with investors from over 49 different countries, Howard has been at the forefront of driving overseas investment into the North West’s property market.
Growing the company from a bootstrapped start-up to now employing 28 FTE, Howard has driven CERT to become one of the North West’s most exciting property developers, committed to delivering, facilitating and managing communities of the future, making social, economic and environmental impact the heart of everything the company does.
